However… I feel like there is nothing new and exciting to keep me interested long enough and, if there is a chance or expectation for a slight change or experimentation in the future with their music, I will not object to it. Which, if that is the case- by all means… go on with yo’ bad self, Kiryu! Maybe they love the raw and uncut composition style. Maybe they’re MEANT to be young VK sounding as if paying respect to where all bands seem to start out. On one hand… maybe that is the sound they wanted. Their sound is a bit chaotic… and in a sense that I find very little flow and connectivity within the instrumentation and vocals. It’s just there… and I hear it… and it’s a bit unsettling.

It’s just that sound and vibe you get from it that hints that this band is young- whether it be musically or time frame (member age and band establishment). Like beginner visual kei young.Ī few people understand me when I say this. I’m trying to find a way in which this makes sense… they sound young. I love their various looks and their be-it weird and slightly disturbing alter-ego group (but that’s just how alter-ego groups go… look at Nightmare’s Sendai Komatsu…) but musically it’s rather dry for me. I support my friends who support them… and even I support them. And even then, I’d not call myself a fan. Would I object someone who did and they’re willing to send me MP3’s? Of course not, if you have something to suggest to me- please do!īut… I just can’t find it in me to be anymore than a “I’ve heard of them and didn’t mind them” fan. But… am I going to go out of my way to buy more? No. I have one of the albums thanks to one of those friends I’m mentioning who sent it to me. In the latest album mentioned, it will include some notable works that are worthy looking up which includes: “Kyosei” (叫声), “Etsu to Utsu” (悦と鬱), “Tsuki no Hime” (月ノ姫)and also “Amaterasu” (天照).I may get shit for this and I completely apologize for I have a lot of friends who adore this band… and I can see why but at the same time… I find myself unable to get in to them. The name originates from the English translation of Kiryu. Did you also know, they have an alter ego as a band known as My Dragon which features a completely contrast side of Kiryu. They have also collaborated with fellow bands under the same label as them, which are Royz and also Codomo Dragon for which they have actually performed the song “Ryouran Resonance” (繚乱レゾナンス). Over the years, they have released 6 albums and also 25 singles, some of which are really great work. However, a decent amount of their music video for their songs also has gore involved, so if you are senstive to such materials, it is definitely better to have some mental preparation. Their music videos features a lot of traditional aspects of Japan, ranging from mythology to even samurais and ninjas. Kiryu‘s style of music has always given the vibes of traditional feel together with modern rock.

It has been over 10 years since this band was formed. It often elaborates on flamboyant costumes and hairstyles. Visual-Kei is a subculture that emphasizes on aesthetics. The members consists of Mahiro on Vocals, Takemasa and Mitsuki on Guitar, Hiyori on Bass and Junji on drums. Kiryu(己龍) is a 5 member Visual-Kei band formed in September 17th 2007.
